Preface “How have comic books Superheroes changed and evolved over time?” changes have occurred among the heroes of the printed page. Some have been easy to spot and work well within the boundaries of the comic book universes, this is called character development. But sometimes character development will come in earth shattering moments like have a sidekick or a love intrest die. This has become a trend as more writers want the characters to become real so when the characters face danger they have to show that it is dangerous to them instead of comeing out unscathed. This has started at the end of the Silver Age and has made the superhero evolve into a being that rarely even resembles their Golden Age roots. Some of the most famous characters such as Batman and Superman have become much grittier and darker in modern day which contrasts with their gentle personalities of yesteryear. These changes are interesting as many writers –especially comic book writers- try and include their own beliefs on society. So does the change in the heroes reflect the changes of society? Most if not all media is made to make money so the authors may just be giving the people what they think they want. So I will try and observe the evolution of the superhero because of my interest and see what I find.
About the Author Hello I’m Dean and I’m a nerd.I always have been; ever since I was little I would read comic books and play video games.Unlike most nerds though I was never bullied or bothered by the fact that I liked nerd like stuff, but that may have had to do with the fact that I have been a martial artist for years and I could always defend myself. My favorite heroes have always been Batman and Superman they are just two of the best superheroes ever and they have inspired me on how I live my life.
